Plastic pollution poses one of the most pressing environmental threats worldwide. To address this challenge, the Melitta Group, in collaboration with Yunus Social Business Fund gGmbH and its subsidiary Cofresco, founded Vishuddh Recycle Private Limited in Bangalore under the Fair Recycled Plastic Initiative. The company embodies the principles of a social business — ensuring that profits are reinvested into the company or local communities, rather than distributed as dividends. Its mission is to combine environmental responsibility with social impact, particularly by improving the livelihoods of waste pickers in India.

Recycling LDPE (low-density polyethylene) film waste to produce high-quality recycled material for garbage bag manufacturing.

Recycled LDPE granules used in production of Swirl® and Handy Bag® garbage bags.
